Architectural Design Versus Pre-Designed Plans
Building a new home is an exciting time, but often can become overwhelming.
Having a vision of what you want but finding the right way to get that vision onto paper and then constructed can be a challenge.
Do you work with a pre-designed plan or start with a custom design from scratch?
Working with a pre-designed plan means shopping around to find that plan that exactly meets your vision.
That’s when the experienced team from Stroud Homes comes in to assist you in finding that perfect plan and guiding you through the process.
With 100’s of award-winning designs, Stroud Homes really has a plan that will suit everyone from a small granny flat to a large lifestyle design, there really is something for everyone.
Choosing a plan that has already been designed can:
In today’s market saving time and money is a major factor when it comes to building, as materials are getting challenging to source, or have extensive lead time, and prices on materials continue to rise regularly.
If you can shorten the design process you are on your way to moving into your new Stroud Home quicker.
With most of our award-winning designs already being constructed we can show images or even complete a 3D Matterport virtual walkthrough of the complete design so you can see exactly how the design flows and where your furniture will fit.
You also get the benefit of talking directly to your home builder, where we add value from a practical mindset on how areas will be constructed and how the final product will look.
Sitting down with our Sales Consultant Mark, he completes a design brief and takes you through the plans that fit in with your brief.
This eliminates those plans that don’t suit and limits any overwhelming factors that can occur.
You can also customise a pre-designed plan.
At Stroud Homes all our plans come with multiple façade options, whether you are after a Classic ‘brick & tile’ look, or a more modern/urban façade or even the Hamptons façade.
We can customise the design to have any one of our facades to suit, often changing the facade gives the ‘WOW’ factor many clients are looking for.
A custom design usually starts with an Architect or Designer and a blank piece of paper. From here you discuss how you want your home to flow and how you want the layout to be.
This process can often take long periods of time, potentially months with many plan revisions, therefore the process can be more complex and there is a higher cost in design fees associated with this.
Often the builder is not involved in the design stage and any input from the builder from a construction point of view is too late, meaning more delays in completing the design.
It’s important that the builder has the opportunity to add value as they can point out cost saving areas and alternate materials to save construction costs.
The team at Stroud Homes is here to make the home building journey a fun and exciting time, where we keep you informed and up to date.
