Greener Builds

At Stroud Homes, we believe in the importance of continuing to be innovative in construction and finding the most eco-friendly way to build new homes in and around the Auckland South region.

We are persistent and passionate about achieving this objective while keeping the build inside the budget of a conventional home build.

In this blog post we’d like to highlight some of our partners and their superior product we use in our award-winning builds to align with our sustainable initiative.

High Performance Building

We are proud to be partnering with High Performer Building to bring our clients the latest and most innovative building products to build a higher performing house, while at the same time shrinking the building and building processes’ carbon footprint.

The slab

The slab

Starting with a fully insulated concrete slab using QuickSet formwork giving you a finished surface around your slab edge and QPOD™ using recycled plastic pods not only are you making a warmer home from the outset, you are lowering the carbon footprint of your build immediately.

The walls

The walls

Next with the timber framed walls. Using J-Frame engineered timber which is consistent and straighter than conventional framing, you know you are doing your part as JFrame uses a considerable amount more of the tree to create the framing. Read more about Stroud Homes reforestation initiative.

The joint

The joint

On a two level home, using steel joists – steel joists which can span further than conventional timber framing, you save on the structural steel required in your home, and gives you a consistent level floor. Image credit: SteelHaus

The floors

The floors

Then by laying Maglok Dragon Board flooring you eliminate the risk of a ‘squeaking floor’ and any wastage on product as Maglok flooring is used throughout the floor all the way into bathrooms. With conventional flooring, a different product is required in wet areas, thus increasing wastage on flooring sheets with the change over of product. Image credit: High Performer Bulding

The insulation

The insulation

Onto the insulation, using Mammoth Insulation giving you insulation that won’t sag or compress, knowing that years down the track, your wall and ceiling insulation is in the same condition it was in before your interior linings were installed. Mammoth insulation recycles and uses thousands of plastic bottles to create the insulation used in your home. Image credit: Mammoth Insulation

The air

The air

Incorporating the latest technology from Panosonic with their nanoe™X engineering, you can sleep easy knowing you are breathing healthy, virus free air.
