2021 in Review
It was a challenging but exciting first year with Stroud Homes for local Christchurch house builder Jamie Gwilliam.
Thanks to his many years of experience in building lifestyle homes he was able to take on the hurdles many builders were faced with last year, and even manage to secure his first contracts for new homes.
We have a quick chat to Jamie about his first year of trading under the Stroud Homes name:
1. What was the highlight for your franchise in 2021?
Signing contracts for our first two houses. We’re excited to get started on these builds and many more in the new year.
2. If you had to describe 2021 in a few words, what would they be?
Challenging, exciting and hard work.
3. What was the biggest hurdle you or your business overcame in 2021?
Starting a new building franchise in its entirety, and especially with the current state of the building industry brought on by the pandemic.
4. Did you notice any building trends in your region over the year?
The lack of materials that most builders experienced around the county this year.
The best thing we could do was be 100% open and honest with all of our clients to let them know exactly what was happening.
5. Any areas/suburbs where it has been more popular to build new homes in?
Woodend and Amberly seem to be popular for people to move to and settle down in.
6. What are you most looking forward to in 2022?
Selling and building more beautiful homes. Stroud Homes has 100+ modern and functional home plans and we’re also happy to customise our plans to suit your family and your land.
7. Do you have any resolutions or goals you are setting for 2022?
Continuing to grow the business in the region.
